Although we can be busy for more than a week after a major stormburst, lifting trees off of houses and clearing away dangerous debris, there is inevitably a great deal of work even after things have been cleaned up. Trees in high risk areas need to be visually inspected from a bucket truck in order to see if there has been storm damage that’s not visible from the ground. This enables us to remove the weakened limbs before they blow down. As you can imagine, it takes a fair amount of time to visually inspect even a fraction of the public trees in Alexandria.
Cranes And Bucket Trucks
Luckily, we have both cranes and bucket trucks so that we’re equipped for almost any tree service job necessary. Cranes are required to capture and swing large trees and limbs away from people and property. We have two 30’ cranes and two full-time crane operators. When the cranes are needed, it’s usually a very big job indeed. It might even require road closures (we handle all the permitting from our office, so it’s included in your estimate when you call.)
We also have five bucket trucks that make all but the largest pruning jobs much more accessible. Although OSHA regulations prohibit private tree companies from working within 15 feet of high tension power lines, we are able to work around the 220 service drops and pole-to-house lines. In cases where we cannot work safely around power lines, we work closely with Dominion VA Power to cut electricity while the job is underway. Our safety certification and strict safety procedures make us one of the most highly-sought-after tree care companies in Alexandria.
We treat all trees just the same: whether the job is large or small, we can help you out. With over 75 employees highly trained and certified, at JL Tree, you’re in good hands.
